Synopsis

Kim Hajin wakes up inside the unfinished novel he wrote, not as its hero but as Kim Chundong, an obscure extra accepted into Cube, an elite academy that trains heroes. He knows the original plot and the people destined to shape it, so he intends to stay near the main story and survive without attracting attention. The trouble is that this world does not follow his draft: unfamiliar details and changes to key events keep undermining his knowledge. To protect himself and the people caught in those changes, Hajin has to act in a story where his own minor character was never supposed to matter.

Editorial note

The twist here is not simply that an author enters his own book: Hajin gets a disposable character and discovers that authorial knowledge is imperfect. His gun-focused fighting style sets him apart from the academy's conventional swordsmen and magicians, while every attempt to correct the plot creates new tensions with the characters he once controlled on the page. The story mixes academy competition, calculated interventions, uneasy friendships and the question of how responsible a creator is for the people in his fictional world.
