Baek Woo-hyun was an ordinary college student until he was transported into the world behind Reverse Planet, the hugely popular virtual-reality game. He survives a nightmare of human experimentation and loses comrades along the way before finally returning to Earth. The game is still online, however, and the dead will not let him forget the revenge he left unfinished. To discover how the game connects to the place he escaped, Woo-hyun logs in again. This time he remains in reality, but a chance appearance on a streamer's broadcast draws attention to his impossible abilities—and an anonymous viewer known only as Viewer 62 asks a question that should not be possible: how does it feel to be back?
The hook is the gap between how everyone else experiences Reverse Planet and what Woo-hyun knows it to be. To ordinary players it is entertainment; to him it is a place where his friends died. That difference makes even a public gameplay stream feel threatening.
