Synopsis
Emerald is a dark Western one-shot by Hiroaki Samura built around revenge, bounty hunters and gunfighters. Set against a harsh frontier landscape, the story follows characters caught in a violent reckoning where survival depends on nerve, marksmanship and the ability to read dangerous intentions before the draw.
Emerald is Hiroaki Samura's first Western. Rather than a long-running series, it is a compact revenge story using the iconography of the American frontier—gunslingers, bounty hunters, dusty settlements and sudden violence—to deliver a bleak, tightly paced seinen tale. It was first published in Monthly Afternoon in 2004 and later collected in Samura's 2009 short-story volume Sister Generator.

What it feels like
This entry refers specifically to Hiroaki Samura's one-shot Emerald, not the entire Sister Generator collection. Its visual identity should be an adult, dusty Western revenge story with bounty-hunter and gunslinger imagery.
